Post # 1 : Art, politics and protest.

My relationship with art, politics and protest has been a really narrow one because maybe, I did not take the time to focus on important issues that one as an individual has to face when adulthood is right around the corner. But from my point of view I think that music is the kind of expression that had connected me with politics and protest because when I was younger, I used to listen to music and not pay attention to the lyrics and message which is what I do know. Now I take the time to listen carefully the message, the tone, composition, melody and some others that break barriers like language and rhythm.
I think my view of the world changed when I watched a documentary about World War II because it was really hard to believe that just one person like Hitler could have done so much damage to humanity.
I have never been part of a social movement but I would like to be part of one that fights for right reasons. Finally as a newcomer to art, politics and protest class (ENN 191)I would like to learn more about activism, how it works, values and principles, ideals, Martin Luther King (Insight), and everything related to activism.
